Join The Apple West Family!

Greetings.

Thank you for your interest in Apple West Home Medical Supply. Before you provide us with your information, I would like to share a few things with you.

My name is Tom Shankle, I’m the owner of Apple West Home Medical Supply. Nice to “meet” you. If during your onboarding process you have any questions or concerns, you may call our main number at (510) 868-9175 and ask for Patience, Felicia or me, Tom. We will be happy to assist you. If you wish to email us, you may email us at WeLoveYou@applewesthms.com .

Here are a few things you can expect being part
of the Apple West family

A Dedicated Customer Account Manager

You will be assigned a dedicated customer account manager who you will be able to call, email, and even text directly with any questions, concerns, or updates. Your customer account manager will work hard to keep you up-to-date and involved with your supplies so there are no unpleasant surprises.

Calling Apple West

When you call us, we will answer each phone call personally during business hours. We have no annoying phone trees or interactive voice response system during our open hours.

Monthly Reorder Process

To meet or exceed federal, state and/or local regulations, we must contact you prior to your order being shipped each month. If we cannot reach you for your re-order, we will hold your order until we do hear from you. For our Medicare customers, we are required by law to contact you prior to each order. In fact, all Medicare providers are required to follow this regulation. However, if you have private insurance, and you prefer to have your orders shipped without being contacted, we can do that for you. Just let us know.

Additionally, during our monthly re-order contact, we will ask you a series of simple, straight-forward questions. Federal and state guidelines require us to capture your responses to these questions each month before we can ship your order. Don’t worry, we make this easy -- you can discuss these monthly re-order questions when you meet with your account manager. You can see a sample of our monthly re-orders questions here.

Annual Prescriptions and Doctors Notes

Did you know that if you are a Medicare customer, you are required to meet or see your physician at least once a year? It’s true. It is becoming more important for private insurance as well since many are beginning to adopt Medicare’s standards. When you meet with your physician you must discuss your bladder and/or bowel program plus any other medical supply needs and have those details captured in your doctor notes. Again, don’t worry — we will provide you and your doctor talking points to help make this process as easy as possible. If we cannot obtain an active prescription and matching doctor notes from your physician, we will be unable to provide you with your supplies. Your account manager will remind you about 4 months before your prescription and/or doctor notes expire to give you plenty of time to make an appointment with your physician (if you haven’t already seen them). You can see a sample of our Doctor Visit Talking Points here.
